Fort Gatlin Shopping Facade

Here we feature a renovated façade for Fort Gatlin Shopping Plaza that we completed in Orlando. The first picture above and below shows the final renovated product. This was the main focal point of the facade renovation. The outside corner was also the tallest part of the facade renovation. The geometric shapes on this corner were made of aluminum as was the decorative two foot extension above it. This space will be a future restaurant.

The next image was taken before the Fort Gatlin Facade Renovation. This was the corner facade focal point before the renovation. There is a huge difference in height and the materials used originally were outdated.

Next we show a great before and after comparison. The end facade is where you can then see the three areas that will go up in height are low to today’s standards and also they were all the same height. We then show how we incorporated three different towers, the one closest is a medium height, the next is the decorative pergola, and the furthest in the picture is the main facade tower.

These next images show the area where the shopping center was protruding vertically compared to the long linier strip of the center. This part of the retail facade broke up the long one level of height by installing three rows of masonry units on the existing wall. With the walkway canopy removed it makes for a much cleaner and modern look.

This is what the right end tower looked like before the renovation. To build the tower, concrete footings and steel were used to raise the structure up to a modern level. This is the smaller end cap where an existing restaurant was and still is. We worked with the restaurant to make sure they were able to be open the entire time we were working on their facade tower. The new sign gives the tower facade a clean bright new look.

The corner retail facade tower was reinforced with steel and larger concrete footings to support the additional height and weight. The glass overhead door allows for the future restaurant customers to have an indoor/outdoor feel when dining. This will house a future restaurant. Cultured marble that resembles travertine marble was installed on the columns. At night, the lights at the cultured marble direct light up and down on the column.

This retail facade renovation end cap will house a brewery in the future. The decorative squares were made of EIFS to give a geometric look to the facade. The Pergola was made of aluminum to last for many years.

We finish the project review with the before picture of a large part of the shopping center. You can see how low the heights are. The walkway canopy cover was removed on the entire center. This end of the retail facade renovation shows where we added Palm Trees and Landscape to break up the quantity of asphalt parking on the project.
